The 2022 CERN Knowledge Transfer Highlights report is out |
The report highlights a few examples in 2022 of how CERN’s technology and know-how, paired with the expertise of our partners, can drive innovation and progress for the benefit of society as a whole. The report has a particular focus on the five domains of Environment, Healthcare, Digital, Quantum technologies, and Aerospace, as well as examples of funding opportunities for CERN personnel, EU funded projects with a strong knowledge-transfer component, and more. The document is now accessible online, along with previous editions. |

Join the audience for a live webinar exploring the very high-energy electron FLASH device being developed by CERN, CHUV and THERYQ, as part of Physics World's Focus on FLASH technology week. The potential of FLASH radiotherapy is being clearly demonstrated in experiments and clinical trials have started for skin and intraoperative treatment using low-energy electrons. Generalizing FLASH therapy to treat large, deep-seated tumours requires new radiation delivery infrastructure. |

CERN’s technologies, facilities and know-how can have a major positive impact on society, well beyond fundamental physics. Two important areas where there are strong natural synergies are the aerospace industry and the environment. In this talk, Enrico Chesta, from the CERN Knowledge Transfer group, will provide an overview of CERN’s contributions to these two areas, describe some of the projects under implementation and the roadmap for the future. |
