Discover the CERN irradiation facilities database |
|
In the framework of the EU-funded AIDA-2020 project, the CERN irradiation facilities database was created to list the key characteristics of worldwide irradiation facilities in a convenient and user-friendly way. The infrastructures listed in this database are the one of interest to the large High Energy Physics (HEP) community for testing particle detectors prototypes, qualifying electronics components & systems, as well as for characterizing the radiation hardness of materials. The CERN database currently comprises 228 facilities. Through the website, users can find a list of useful information ranging from contact persons, available types of beams or radiation fields (photons, electrons, heavy ions, protons, neutrons, and laser-driven beams, etc.) to accessibility, logistic or safety. Within our RADNEXT WP4 (“Roadmap and pre-design of future irradiation facilities”), one task focuses on updating, extending, and maintaining the wide range of facility data of this CERN database. The current database can be considered as the focal point between users and facilities and intends to pave the way to bring industry and research closer together. |

Save the date | Annual Meeting 2024 |
|
The 3rd RADNEXT Annual Meeting will take place in a hybrid format on 10 and 11 June 2024. At the annual meeting, we will bring together the 31 beneficiaries and numerous associated partners to discuss the scientific and technical achievements since our previous Annual Meeting in May 2023 (Seville), as well as the plans for the fourth year of the project. The Annual Meeting will be held at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) in Harwell near Oxford, UK. A Zoom link will also be provided for remote participation. We hope to see many of you there! More info on registration and accommodation will be available soon. |

From 8-9 November 2023, the GRADNEXT Workshop was organised as a hybrid event at CERN and on Zoom. The workshop gathered almost 100 people. 25% of the participants were from industry. The two-day workshop featured keynote talks by renowned experts, topical sessions, a networking buffet and three site visits to the CERN irradiation facilities. A huge thanks to everyone for their valuable contributions and especially to the organisation committee for all their efforts! And good news: the committee is already working hard on the organisation of the next GB-RADNEXT workshop on future facilities, which will take place from 12-13 June 2024 at the Royal Appleton Laboratory in Harwell, UK (after the annual meeting). Registrations will open soon. |

The 2024 RADiation Effects on Components and Systems (RADECS) Conference will be held from 16-20 September 2024 at the ExpoMeloneras Conference Centre in the charming setting of Maspalomas, Gran Canaria Island (Canary Islands, Spain). This year's RADECS Conference will have great contributions from the RADNEXT project, with our project coordinator Rubén García Alía being the Vice General Chair and many of our members being involved in the Conference and Technical Committee. Registration for the conference will be opened end of April 2024. We hope to see you all next year in Maspalomas! |
